Sky Pine Vineyards, home of BobDog Wines, invites you attend ROOTCAMP, 2010; February 20, 2010, 9am-3pm, at Sonoma County’s highest elevated hillside winery (2000 feet).  A day of vineyard education; hands-on pruning; barrel tasting; and a gourmet dinner at Piacere’s (Northern Italian cuisine) along with pairings of our Mountain Bordeaux varietals.  This is the first of our 3 part series for 2010 with a spring and fall program to follow, as later scheduled.

This is not for snobby wine elites, but a practical experience of learning the fine art-form of Winter Pruning, combined with tours and education of mountain vineyards, viticulture and yes….. eating and drinking.  Dare to travel to the 2000 foot mark above the Russian River, strap on your sturdy foot ware, gloves and shears and march up to the "ONTOP" vineyard block of cabernet sauvignon, conquering your fears(of heights)  and learning the mysteries of vine restructuring; and why the experts say:  "It all begins with the pruning!".   (Don’t worry its only a couple of vines, and not all the 9000 we have planted.)

Included in this small group event is:

1. Saturday’s activities at the winery and vineyards, education, presentations,  and contest: "The silliest question asked";
2. At the Winery, nourishment and  barrel tasting of the 2009 Cab. Sav. and Cab. Franc, and just maybe the Petite Verdot;
3. 6pm, Wine Maker dinner at Piacere’s fine restaurant, downtown Cloverdale, with pairings of our vintages;
4. 30% discounts on all case purchases from the winery;
5. Priority reservations for the next ROOTCAMP event: Spring Succoring, and the return of the "RedWine&BlueMusic Festival".

All for the price of $300 per couple; $175 per person.  Space is limited to: 12 people for maximum personal attention.
